About the Author

One of the India's most prized figures, Rabindranath Tagore was a novelist, short-story writer, poet, essayist and painter. He is best known for his works Gitanjali, Ghare-Baire and Gora. He wrote the national anthem of India and Bangladesh. He introduced Indian culture to the West and vice versa and he is considered as an outstanding creative artist of modern South Asia. He was the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1913.
