About the Author

Gabriel Moran was born in Manchester, NH, in 1935. The earliest of his 28 books established him as a force for reform of the Roman Catholic Church and worldwide religious education. He often wrote with his wife, Maria Harris. until her death in 2005. His writing has extended to ethics, nonviolence and human rights. His recent book, Missed Opportunities: Rethinking Catholic Tradition, is the most radical proposal available for changing the language, structure and basis for the church's official teaching.
