Obedience to Christ: Striving For the Greatest Wisdom of All through Unwavering Devotion and Discipleship (Grapevine Edition) Paperback – 12 June 2024
"Sin is never a thing to be proud of. No act is wise that ignores remote consequences, and sin always does. How wise is the man who has made the God of Jacob his hope and has taken refuge in the Rock of Ages!" — A. W. Tozer Obedience—it's a word many would rather ignore. In an age that prizes self-will and independence, obedience sounds outdated, even offensive. Yet, Tozer insists, it is the very essence of the Christian life. Salvation and obedience. Saviour and Lord. They are not separate truths but one inseparable reality. To truly receive Christ as Saviour is to submit to Him as Lord—regardless of the consequences. The world may mock this surrender as foolishness. But Tozer calls it the highest wisdom. If eternity lies ahead, and our brief earthly life shapes our forever, what greater danger could there be than striving for rewards that will burn away when Christ returns? In Obedience to Christ, Tozer offers more than a warning—he offers a way back. A way to live with clarity, urgency, and eternal purpose. With piercing insight and pastoral love, he reminds us that obedience is not legalism—it is love in action. This is a call to breathe heaven’s air, to walk in step with the Spirit, and to rediscover the joy of living fully and faithfully for Jesus.
