Barbara R. Lester is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her BA in Psychology (1981) and her Master’s in Social Welfare (1984) from the University of California at Berkeley. She has been employed with the Behavioral Health department of Intermountain Healthcare, in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past fourteen years. She has over twenty-five years of experience providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults with a broad variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and behavior and learning problems. She specializes in working with individuals on the autism spectrum providing parenting classes, social skills groups, and individual and family therapy. Her father, now aged eighty-nine, is on the autism spectrum, giving her both a personal and professional outlook on issues related to ASDs. In addition to her work as a therapist, she has authored a workbook for children who have a parent on the autism spectrum, and she develops apps for smart phones on such psychotherapy related topics as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger and social skills.
